Overview

Epique supports four types of team structures for agents who want to collaborate, share branding, or operate as a group. Each team type has its own cap structure, fee structure, eligibility requirements, and formation rules.

This page explains the differences between team types and helps you determine which structure fits your situation. Each team type has its own dedicated page with full details.

What All Teams Have in Common

Regardless of team type, every team at Epique must comply with the following:

DBA Required

Any team using a team name must register a DBA locally in accordance with state laws and requirements. The team name must also be registered with the state real estate licensing authority and approved by the Company before use.

Logo and Brand Approval

Team logos, colors, and branding must be submitted to and approved by the Company in writing before use.

Newly Licensed Agents

Newly licensed agents — or agents who have not yet closed any transactions — may only join an Unofficial Team or a Family Team upon onboarding. They must be with Epique for a minimum of one year before becoming eligible to join a Traditional Team or Power Team.

Newly Licensed Spouses

When a spousal partnership includes a newly licensed agent, that agent may not be placed on a Traditional Team or Power Team. Spouses on these team structures are prohibited from closing all or the majority of their transactions through the reduced-cap spouse.

Internal Recruitment Limits

To maintain sustainability within the brokerage, all team types have limits on how many active Epique agents a team leader can recruit internally. See individual team pages for specific limits.

Power Award Eligibility

Team members on any team type are still eligible for the Power Award regardless of their commission cap structure. Stock awards are calculated based on the member's current cap at the time of achievement.

Choosing a Team Type

You are family members working together → Family Team

You are established agents who want a structured team with a shared brand and split agreement → Traditional Team

You want to share a team name for marketing purposes without a formal structure → Unofficial Team

Your team has hit $40 million in sales volume or 140 transactions in an anniversary year → Power Team
