Unofficial Teams
Overview
An Unofficial Team — also called a Marketing Team — is an unstructured group of agents who share a team name for marketing and collaboration purposes. It does not come with special pricing, reduced caps, or formal commission split requirements.
What an Unofficial Team Is
An Unofficial Team exists primarily for branding. Agents agree to operate under a shared team name on marketing materials without a formal team agreement or split structure. It is the most flexible team type at Epique.
Benefits
Team Branding
All team members share a common approved team name on advertising and marketing materials.
No Special Pricing
Unofficial Teams do not receive reduced caps, reduced technology fees, or any other fee adjustments. All members operate under standard individual agent pricing.
Formation Requirements
Team Leader Required
Even though the team is unstructured, a team leader must be named. The team leader is the responsible member who keeps the team in compliance with Epique's policies.
DBA Required
All teams must register a DBA locally in order to use the team name, in accordance with provincial/state laws and requirements. The team name must be registered with the state real estate licensing authority and approved by the Managing Broker before use.
Newly Licensed Agents
Newly licensed agents may join an Unofficial Team upon onboarding — there is no minimum time requirement for this team type.
Internal Recruitment Limits
An Unofficial Team Leader may recruit and attract Epique agents internally. However, if five or more active and established Epique agents join the team through internal attraction, the team is no longer eligible to convert to a Traditional Team or Power Team structure.
There is no limit on recruiting agents from outside Epique.
Converting to Another Team Type
An Unofficial Team may convert to a Traditional Team or Power Team only if fewer than five of its members were recruited internally. If five or more members joined through internal attraction, conversion is not permitted.
